Lessons From The Great Manchester Run

  • 1:8 min

This weekend, the Great Manchester Run took over the city—a sea of determination, sweat, and triumph. Thousands lined up, not just to race, but to push their limits, support causes close to their hearts, and finish something they once thought they couldn’t.

It struck me how similar this is to the journey many of my clients take—through separation, conflict, or professional crisis. Like preparing for a run, facing conflict requires courage, stamina, and the right support.

No one crosses the finish line alone. Behind every runner is a network of training plans, coaches, cheerleaders—and the same applies in mediation and coaching. The people I work with are not running from something—they are running towards something: clarity, resolution, peace of mind, and often a better version of themselves.

Whether it’s a relationship breakdown or a leadership challenge, the process can feel tough —tiring, uphill, and never-ending. But with the right tools, mindset, and guidance, people cross that line stronger, calmer, and more in control.

So this week, whether you were running, watching, or simply cheering from the sidelines, I invite you to reflect:

Where in your life are you running a race without the right support team?

And

What might change if you had someone pacing you, keeping you steady and focused on the road ahead?

If that resonates, let’s talk.
