Your phone might be fuelling the stress

  • 0:37 min

When people are under stress, they often look to their screens for relief — connection, distraction, information. The unintended consequence is that many end up consuming high-stress inputs: news alerts, social feeds, conflict threads, constant notifications.

From a nervous-system perspective, this is like keeping the body in a low-level “threat scan” all day

If you’re feeling flat, anxious or “stuck”, can I suggest something simple?

A small experiment for today:

  • turn off notifications (even for a few hours)
  • step away from social media
  • and choose one soothing thing instead: music, a hot drink, a book, a bath, a short walk

This isn’t avoidance. It’s protecting the quality of your thinking — so that the next decision you make is deliberate, not reactive.
